ICQ 6 introduces a whole new world of communication, a world where it's all about the user. It has a new look, it's easy to use and let's the user create his or her own communication experience. ICQ 6 is not just an upgrade but rather a total reinvention of the entire IM communication experience. It's an innovative version with an entirely new software and a completely redesigned UI. ICQ 6 lets the user communicate in various ways - all in a single message window.

ICQ 6 brings the overall design of today's IMs up-to-date. The creators have improved the capabilities of the IM, so instead of using one program for phone chat, Video and another for text and instant messaging, they've created an instant messaging service that allows you to keep your individual communication needs organized exactly as you please. ICQ 6 will be the optimal communication tool, not just the simple IM as we know today.

Most important of all: in my personal opinion, ICQ is more stable and reliable than programs like Windows Live Messenger (MSN). To download it, press the picture below. Feel free to add me: 473115157.

DESTINATION ECOSSE

October 15 - Boom! Surprise! It has been quiet for a while, I know. I landed in Scotland three months ago, totally by coincidence. What's the story? Well, I seriously doubted about what to do... Continue exploring the world or go back home to Geneva and settle down. I had various options to choose from. Last year I received a job offer to work in China for a year, for the preparation of the Olympic Games 2008 in Beijing. A great opportunity, an unique chance in a lifetime. Many people would have said 'YES' without a doubt.

If I was offered the same job four years ago, for the Olympic Games 2004 in Athens (Greece), I would never have doubted and have signed blindfolded, no matter what the contract would have said. But China is a different story. Far away from friends, a language barrier, a different culture and a year of Chinese food. Don't get me wrong: I absolutely would love to visit China. But not for one year to work there without the possibility to go back at holidays like Christmas. Even I am only human and would miss my friends too much.

I decided to work in Hungary during summer. Unfortunately, the Dutch Embassy in London screwed up my passport application, which made me being stuck in Wales for a while. It left me no choice but applying for a new job. I declined offers from Denmark, Switzerland and Luxemburg. I decided to choose for something different: Scotland!  I had a good feeling and to be honest, it was quite an easy application procedure. My first interview was on July 11, I flew into Glasgow at July 14 and started my job at the 16th. Easy does it!

I never had any intentions to give up my residence in Geneva. I love Switzerland. From Saas-Fee, to La Chaux-de-Fonds and Geneva, where most of my friends live. I couldn't live in Holland anymore. Everytime I visit Holland, I just don't feel home anymore. It was a difficult decision to make the step from Switzerland to Scotland, but I just took the chance. It is working out quite well.

Life in Scotland is treating me well. I live in a small village called Largs, just a few streets away from the boulevard along the lake. The mentality is different than in Holland and Switzerland. In a good way. Work is just 20 minutes away. I know that this page is going to be accessible for some of my colleagues, so maybe I should put some slimy ass words about them in this story. Then again.... NOT.

Ok, I like my job. I get the opportunity to talk a lot, for which I get paid. Wow me! I especially like the 'sit-on-my-ass'-management. I really excellerate in that one! I can talk Dutch at my work, which is of course my main language. Of course we, the Dutch guys of IBM, are the most undervalued, best performing team. Surrounded by Germans, but hell, you can't have it all.... Just kidding guys. You are great people to work with. Auf wiedersehen! Enne... Joost? Houdoe en bedankt he! Willem, heb je de Wiki al af? Vlad, werk eens door! Enne Kaz, verzuip niet in je statistieken! Mannen, tot na mijn vakantie!!
